About Us

Cottage Street Garage is run by James and Alex, two school friends who bought the business in 2001. They both studied at Stockport College for 5 years where they gained full NVQ and City and Guilds qualifications.

Before buying Cottage Street Garage, James and Alex gained extensive knowledge of the motor industry at OMC Ford, North Cheshire Vauxhall and Auto Point Knutsford.

The team was completed 15 months ago when apprentice Chris Shingler joined James and Alex.

Cottage Street Garage was established in 1960 by John Andrews-Mason and grew steadily from the very beginning. He was joined six years later by Malcom Hague who took the business over when John decided to retire after 28 enjoyable years.

Malcom can still be seen around the garage renovating classic cars, even though he himself has now also 'retired'.
